We offer a range of counselling services through our Registered Pyschologists, Clinical Consultants, and Registered Clinical Counsellors. For clients who do not have a direct referral from their insurance provider, we are currently offering private counselling sessions with our Registered Clinical Counsellors. Alexander Miniato
Al received his Master’s of Physical Therapy from The University of British Columbia after completing a Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology degree from Simon Fraser University.
Al worked as a paramedic with BC Ambulance Service for 7 years and had the opportunity to work with patients during a stressful moment in their life, such as an illness or injury. Al returned to school to become a physiotherapist so he could further help people rehabilitate from their injuries and return to the activities or goals important to them.
Al’s treatment approach involves a balance of manual therapy, exercise prescription, and education centered on empowerment.

Tariq Dossa Registered Massage Therapist
Tariq graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy with honours, finishing atop the Dean’s list in addition to being awarded first place for his Clinical case study. Tariq attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and has also achieved certifications in Strength & Conditioning (NSCA-CSCS) and Level 1 & 2 Functional Movement Screen (FMS). _____
Tariq is passionate about his patients reaching their health and wellness goals, and seeks to accomplish this through safe, effective, ethical, patient-focused care. His approach to massage therapy implements various manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise and education to empower his patients who entrust him with their well-being.
In addition to having the privilege of working with his patients in clinical practice as an RMT since 2013, Tariq has also had the opportunity to assist the Vancouver Giants and Canadian Men’s XV Rugby Team, as well as the athletes at the Canadian Ultimate Championships and participants of the BMO Marathon. Angus is a physiotherapist who graduated from UBC’s Master of Physical Therapy Program. Angus has a passion for exercise and movement and empowers his clients by giving them the tools they need to regain their mobility and reach their goals. Before his career in physical therapy, he worked as a personal trainer to help empower others in their fitness journey. Mallory Mountford Physiotherapist
Mallory graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy following an Integrated Science degree in physiology and chemistry at the University of British Columbia.
With the goal of continued education, Mallory also completed a soft tissue mobilization course and the Level 1 Manual Therapy course while still in her Masters.
With a passion for lifelong education, she intends to pursue a specialization in vestibular rehabilitation and to continue through upper level Manual Therapy courses.
Through school, Mallory developed a multifaceted treatment approach tailored towards individual patients that incorporates their goals in conjugation with evidence-based treatment principles.
She is committed to helping clients achieve their health goals as efficiently and effectively as possible through patient education, manual therapy and activity-specific exercise prescription.

Alexis Karsli
(She/Her/Hers)
Alexis grew up in Toronto, swimming and camping in every season. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Physiotherapy degrees at UBC. Alexis has worked with clients of all ages, and hopes to empower clients to participate in their recovery through active treatment techniques and open communication throughout their journey. She believes in the importance of helping her clients understand how their bodies move and function to promote an achievable plan for recovery.
Alexis has taken additional courses on lower limb running injuries, K-Taping and Level 1 AIM orthopedics. She has had clinical placements with emphasis on amputee rehab, kids physio, and hip/knee replacements. In her free time, you can find Alexis swimming or in a Bungee fitness class!

Ryan Jung
Ryan is a practicing member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists. He has a special interest in postural correction and shoulder injuries as he has experienced going through the recovery and rehabilitation process for shoulder injuries due to a motor vehicle accident at a young age.
Ryan has trained a wide variety of clients ranging in all ages and function levels. What motivates Ryan is being able to help clients find consistent progress and improvements in their day-to-day lives using his background in kinesiology and muscle physiology.

Dean Aclera
Dean has graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) program at Langara College. Throughout his time in the program, he attended outreaches during his internship, working with spinal cord injury patients, dancers, climbers, competitive rowers, and in long term care homes. In addition, he has encountered pre and post partum patients, various neurological cases, and other various complex cases. Prior to entering this program, he graduated from UBC with a Bachelor in Science with a Major in Applied Biology.
In his practice, he is able to use Myofascial, Trigger Point, Swedish techniques, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to his practice. Dean particularly likes using point pressure in addition to a pin and stretch to help improve range of motion to return to regular function and reduce pain in the process. During your treatment, you can expect insight on what is going in the body to be effective short-term in the hopes to have positive long-term effects.
In his spare time, Dean enjoys sneakers (a big sneakerhead), thrifting, and various outdoor activities such as running and hiking when the weather is nice here in rainy Vancouver. If the weather is raining, he can be found bouldering at one of the nearby climbing gyms!

Jeffrey Lin Location: Vancouver
Jeff is a clinician who strongly believes in active rehabilitation. He uses up-to-date evidence-based treatment methods to help his clients in their recovery.

Our Offered Counselling Services
Back in Motion Health counsellors are all master’s-level trained mental health professionals that hold a license in good professional standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, designating them as Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC).
We are here for you, no matter the support that you need to improve your mental health. We offer short or long-term counselling services using a variety of approaches: cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), talk therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, Rogerian therapy, etc.
Our services have no formal commitment required (number of sessions), although optimal outcomes require commitment to treatment.
Your initial counselling session consists of introductions, informed consent review, establishing rapport, and conducting formal or informal assessments as needed. Assessments may include questionnaires to evaluate symptoms of anxiety, depression, etc.
