Tariq attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and has also achieved certifications in Strength & Conditioning (NSCA-CSCS) and Level 1 & 2 Functional Movement Screen (FMS).

Dean has graduated from the Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) program at Langara College. Throughout his time in the program, he attended outreaches during his internship, working with spinal cord injury patients, dancers, climbers, competitive rowers, and in long term care homes. In addition, he has encountered pre and post partum patients, various neurological cases, and other various complex cases. Prior to entering this program, he graduated from UBC with a Bachelor in Science with a Major in Applied Biology.
In his practice, he is able to use Myofascial, Trigger Point, Swedish techniques, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) to his practice. Dean particularly likes using point pressure in addition to a pin and stretch to help improve range of motion to return to regular function and reduce pain in the process. During your treatment, you can expect insight on what is going in the body to be effective short-term in the hopes to have positive long-term effects.

Back in Motion Health counsellors are all master’s-level trained mental health professionals that hold a license in good professional standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, designating them as Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC).
We are here for you, no matter the support that you need to improve your mental health. We offer short or long-term counselling services using a variety of approaches: cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), talk therapy, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), somatic experiencing, Rogerian therapy, etc.
Our services have no formal commitment required (number of sessions), although optimal outcomes require commitment to treatment.
Your initial counselling session consists of introductions, informed consent review, establishing rapport, and conducting formal or informal assessments as needed. Assessments may include questionnaires to evaluate symptoms of anxiety, depression, etc.
