CAR Program
The Customized Active Rehabilitation (CAR) program is an evidence based multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment program for non-WSBC clients with physical injuries, chronic conditions or recovering from medical diagnoses with an aim to assisting them to return to function and work in a timely manner.
It is designed to treat almost all forms of physical and medical health issues affecting function.
The basic program involves Physiotherapist and Kinesiologist. However, we do offer provisions for adding a psychologist to this program to assist with managing emotional sequela as well as Occupational Therapist for cognitive deficits, or complex return to work scenarios.
Who is It For?
This service can be accessed by private pay clients, but most frequently will be utilized by LTD companies, RCMP, or other employers via referral.

What to Expect
The assessment provides:
- screening and analysis of history of presenting conditioning,
- current symptom profile,
- treatments and investigations to date,
- objective measurement systems implicated in one’s injury,
- their functional level compared to critical job demands,
- and ensuring they are safe to participate in an active rehabilitation program.
Treatment is evidence based, providing:
- education,
- injury specific exercises,
- functional restoration,
- and building endurance for activity in a well-supported environment with knowledgeable clinicians.
Programs can consist of education classes, group walks, tension reduction training, individualized gym programs, work simulation, structured activity reintegration at home and in the community.
Treatments, schedules and timeframes are all tailored to an individual’s needs.
The program is designed to progress in hours and days over the duration of a client’s program to ready a person to begin a gradual return to work (GRTW) at the conclusion of their clinic time.
GRTW planning and implementation will be completed as part of the program and the client will typically be requested to attend the clinic to monitor throughout their GRTW.

Alexis Karsli
(She/Her/Hers)
Alexis grew up in Toronto, swimming and camping in every season. She received both her Master of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Science at UBC in Vancouver. Alexis has worked with clients of all ages, and hopes to empower clients to participate in their recovery through active treatment techniques (get ready for exercise) and open communication between client and physio throughout their journey. She believes in the importance of helping her clients understand how their bodies move and function when discussing treatment plans to better aid recovery.
Alexis has completed her Level 1 AIM orthopedics certification and has had clinical placements with emphasis on amputee rehab, kids physio, senior health, hip/knee replacements, and general public and private physio.

Ryan Jung
Ryan is a practicing member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists. He has a special interest in postural correction and shoulder injuries as he has experienced going through the recovery and rehabilitation process for shoulder injuries due to a motor vehicle accident at a young age.
Ryan has trained a wide variety of clients ranging in all ages and function levels. What motivates Ryan is being able to help clients find consistent progress and improvements in their day-to-day lives using his background in kinesiology and muscle physiology.
Ryan’s training philosophy addresses three main factors that might cause dysfunctions or imbalances: mobility, stability, and strength. Mallory Mountford Physiotherapist
Mallory graduated from the University of Alberta with a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy following an Integrated Science degree in physiology and chemistry at the University of British Columbia.
With the goal of continued education, Mallory also completed a soft tissue mobilization course and the Level 1 Manual Therapy course while still in her Masters.
With a passion for lifelong education, she intends to pursue a specialization in vestibular rehabilitation and to continue through upper level Manual Therapy courses.
Through school, Mallory developed a multifaceted treatment approach tailored towards individual patients that incorporates their goals in conjugation with evidence-based treatment principles.
She is committed to helping clients achieve their health goals as efficiently and effectively as possible through patient education, manual therapy and activity-specific exercise prescription.

Tariq Dossa Registered Massage Therapist
Tariq graduated from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy with honours, finishing atop the Dean’s list in addition to being awarded first place for his Clinical case study. Tariq attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and has also achieved certifications in Strength & Conditioning (NSCA-CSCS) and Level 1 & 2 Functional Movement Screen (FMS). _____
Tariq is passionate about his patients reaching their health and wellness goals, and seeks to accomplish this through safe, effective, ethical, patient-focused care. His approach to massage therapy implements various manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise and education to empower his patients who entrust him with their well-being.
In addition to having the privilege of working with his patients in clinical practice as an RMT since 2013, Tariq has also had the opportunity to assist the Vancouver Giants and Canadian Men’s XV Rugby Team, as well as the athletes at the Canadian Ultimate Championships and participants of the BMO Marathon. Dylan Rybski
Dylan completed his Master’s of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia following a Kinesiology degree at the University of Victoria. He is also certified in IMS dry needling through acupuncture Canada.
Originally from Vancouver Island, Dylan’s passion for rehabilitation stemmed from working as a patient through his own sports-related injuries.
Through his school, he developed a passion for active rehab and manual therapy that helped shape his current practice.

Jeffrey Lin Location: Vancouver
Jeff is a clinician who strongly believes in active rehabilitation. He uses up-to-date evidence-based treatment methods to help his clients in their recovery.
